The order at Lobby Café is short by design: aromatic coffees, flaky pastries and tapas-style snacks. It is the most informal of the four places to eat inside the Tivoli Maiorana Belém Pará, and the only one built around a drink and something small rather than a seated meal.

The café sits in the lobby of the hotel, in Belém’s Campina district near Guajará Bay, so it works as a pause in the movement of the building: a mid-morning coffee, an afternoon pastry, an early-evening snack before dinner somewhere else. The property is Tivoli’s third in Brazil, and its design leans on natural light, tropical materials and regional detail, which is the setting the café borrows rather than one it creates for itself.

Where it sits among the hotel’s kitchens

The rest of the hotel’s dining is more ambitious, and knowing that sets expectations. There is a rooftop restaurant and bar, a second restaurant working regional ingredients with modern technique, and a wine bar and trattoria. Lobby Café is the counterpoint to all three, with simpler architecture: coffee at the centre, laminated pastry beside it, and small savoury plates for anyone who wants more than something sweet. Expect to choose between those three things rather than from a long menu.
