In good weather the terrace is the seat to ask for, since it puts the water directly in front of you rather than behind glass. Inside does nearly as well, because the windows are large enough that the lake is still the thing you are looking at.

It is bright, it is calm, and it is meant to be sat in slowly. This is a tea room in the older sense, where the hour matters more than the transaction, and where the desserts are paced to match rather than rushed out and cleared.

For a first visit: the apple pie, hot, with a pot from the assorted specialty teas. That pairing is the clearest version of what this place does, and it is the one worth building the stop around.

Return visits are better spent on the two cakes and drink set, which spreads the decision across the counter instead of forcing it, or on whichever seasonal fruit dessert is running that month. The hot bread stew set turns the visit into something closer to a light meal, and is worth knowing about if you want salt before sweetness.
