Double espresso is served from a choice of three single origins, which is the clearest sign of what this shop is for. Ethiopia and El Salvador are among the origins guests have found on the bar, and the roasters change: the shop has poured coffee from several different ones over the past few years rather than settling on one house supply. If you are ordering once, ask which three origins are on and take whichever the bar is most enthusiastic about, because the list moves.

That rotation is the programme. Sourcing and preparation carry the weight here rather than a long list of flavoured drinks, and coffee from beyond North Macedonia is the point rather than a novelty.

An old house, vintage cups and a hidden garden

The room is a restored old house in the centre of Skopje, bohemian in feel, with vintage cups and saucers and soft jazz underneath. Presentation is part of the experience: the same coffee in a paper cup somewhere else would not make the same visit.

Seating runs to indoor tables and a small hidden garden, which gives the place a slower rhythm than a takeaway counter. The owner is a visible presence, and the warmth of the welcome comes up as often as the coffee does.

A pioneer of Skopje's specialty scene

The Dude is one of the pioneers of specialty coffee in North Macedonia, a young scene, and much of the shop's standing comes from having been there before the rest of it. It ranked 85th in The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops for 2026 and was recognised in the 2025 European Coffee Trip awards.
