Why go
The case is built for cakes first
What fills the case at Dbakers Sweet Studio is celebration work: piped buttercream cakes, designer cakes, heart cakes and compact bento cakes, with French macarons, cupcakes, cookies, crème brûlée and small desserts filling in around them. This is a cake-first studio rather than a bread-led bakery, and the assortment is organised the same way, by cakes, cupcakes, macarons, cookies and desserts. Colour, piping, shape and a written message do most of the defining.
The house came to Miami from Caracas, a lineage it sums up as “Born in Venezuela, Baked in Miami.” Its founders grew up there and built the business here, and the Midtown shop is where that work is sold.
A small shop with a takeaway tempo
The room is small and built for choosing something sweet and carrying it out. Ready-made cakes and desserts sit in the case for anyone walking in, while the custom side runs on a chosen date: nothing is frozen, and a single cake takes four to six hours to bake, fill and frost. A co-founder describes the appeal in terms of the reveal rather than the bench, saying the best part is not making the cake but watching the box open.
That explains the studio’s focus better than any description of the room. The work is aimed at birthday tables, gift boxes and party desserts, which is why decoration is the loudest element and why so much of the case is built to travel intact.
Order the heart cake, then add macarons
Start with a heart cake when the occasion wants something bold: a recognisable shape, decorative detail and a surface ready for a message. For a smaller centrepiece, a bento cake does the same job in miniature, sized for one or two people. Custom birthday cakes and designer cakes are the core reason to come, especially when style, flavour, colour palette and wording all need choosing at once.
French macarons are the natural addition beside a main cake, and cupcakes, cookies, crème brûlée and the day’s fresh desserts round out a box. Dietary needs shape the choice: most cakes can be made gluten-free, though not red velvet, Dubai cake or tres leches, nut-free is available on every cake and cupcake, and vegan cakes are not made at all. The more custom the celebration, the more the conversation matters; the walk-in case is the shortcut for everything else.

Frequently asked questions
What should I order at Dbakers Sweet Studio?
A heart cake is the clearest first order: a bold shape with decorative piping and room for a written message. Bento cakes do the same in miniature for one or two people. French macarons are the standard addition beside a larger cake, and the case also holds cupcakes, cookies, crème brûlée and the day’s fresh desserts.
Can Dbakers make gluten-free or vegan cakes?
Most cakes can be made gluten-free, although red velvet, Dubai cake and tres leches cannot. Nut-free is available on every cake and cupcake. Vegan cakes are not made at all. Custom cakes are baked fresh for the chosen date rather than frozen, and one cake takes four to six hours to bake, fill and frost.
