Roasted in the room, named like a joke
Coffee has been roasted on site since December 2022, and the lot names set the register immediately: Hubba-Bubba, Big Mom, Gold Digger, Last Piece Of Cake, Grape Starfruit, Bach. Behind the naming the sourcing is serious. Ipa Guariroba from Brazil is a carbonic maceration single origin tasting of lemongrass, black tea and sugar; Pink Volcano is a washed Colombian Pink Bourbon with almond, black tea, green apple and peach; Pina Colada, also a Colombian Pink Bourbon but natural, runs to citrus, coconut and tropical fruit. A dozen coffees rotate through, drawn from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Indonesia and Kenya.
Espresso, filter, and a bag to take home
The counter pours espresso and filter, and the shop sells whole beans, drip bags, tea and merch, so a visit splits between what you drink now and what you carry out. Roast styles move around on purpose, from a decaf such as Condor to experimental fermentations, which means the board rarely reads the same way twice. The names keep coming as well: Humming Bird, Juicy Strawberry, Humble Queen, Mad Mic, and a tea-and-coffee crossover called BrewTEAful. There is a logic to the joke, since a bag is easier to remember by its character than by farm and varietal, and the tasting notes on the back are left to do the technical work.
Bags are hand-decorated with spray cans, each one finished as a piece of street-art graphics, and the room follows the same skate-culture aesthetic: bright, modern and counter service.
What it is really about
Spojka means connector, or clutch, and the name points back to a well-known local bar where the founders once worked. The business talks about itself as a community rather than a shop, and the room is built for that, with people at the counter, ideas traded across it, and the roaster working in the same building.
The head roaster has competed at the World Barista Championship, which shows in how carefully the coffees are chosen and described. The roastery also appears in European Coffee Trip's Prešov coffee guide. Order an espresso and a filter of the same origin if the board allows it, then take home a bag of whichever one wins. Tea and drip bags are there for anyone who would rather not carry whole beans.
