Coffee on one side, eyewear on the other. Memorylook runs both from one Koreatown room in Los Angeles, and the sign says as much: EYEWEAR + CAFE. The cafe half is short and specific, coffee, matcha, tea and donuts, and the matcha Einspenner is the drink people come back for.

Matcha, cold brew and a case of donuts

The house line names coffee, matcha and donuts as the whole offer, and the drinks list does not stray far from it. Matcha has the strongest pull, particularly the matcha Einspenner, made in proper Einspenner style with the cream held on top rather than stirred through, and it is the order singled out most often. Coffee drinkers get the cold brew Einspenner, the same construction on the other side of the menu. Tea is part of the stated identity too.

Food is compact and donut-led. The choux paste donut is the named one worth ordering, and beyond it the case holds fresh-baked goods and pastries in a handful of types rather than a long list. Treat it as a pastry counter beside the drinks, not a breakfast kitchen.

A room built for staying

The eyewear side gives Memorylook a lifestyle-retail layer most cafes do not have, and the design follows it: sleek, modern and visually considered, closer to a shop than a dining room. What happens inside is ordinary and unhurried. People sit, study, talk, work, and browse the frames on the way out.

Seating is the practical draw. There is a good amount of it, including outdoor tables, and enough space that a long session with a laptop is normal rather than tolerated. Popularity has a cost, and at peak hours finding a table takes patience. Otherwise the room flexes easily between a fast matcha run and an afternoon of work.

Order the matcha Einspenner first

Start with the matcha Einspenner. It is the clearest introduction to what Memorylook does, the matcha under the cream is good quality, and the drink is built properly rather than as a novelty. If coffee is the pull instead, take the cold brew Einspenner for the same idea in a different register.

Add a donut, ideally the choux paste one, which is the only pastry here with a name of its own. A full order looks like a matcha or cold brew Einspenner, a donut from the day's selection, and as much time in the room as you want to spend. The eyewear is a browse on the way out rather than a separate errand.
