Why go
Cold brew steeped for a day
The cold brew is where Maven Coffee Co. makes its case. Freshly roasted beans are precision-ground and then gently steeped for 12 to 24 hours in triple-filtered water, a patented process that yields a smooth, low-acid concentrate with a naturally sweet finish, packed airtight to hold it there.
The sourcing behind it is fine Arabica from coffee regions around the world, chosen with attention to sustainability, ethical sourcing and quality control, then selected and blended by the house roasters for richness, complexity and distinctive character. Lattes and cold brew over ice are the everyday expressions of that work.
Four generations of coffee behind the counter
The coffee program has a long back story. The founding family started in coffee in 1920s Spain and later expanded to Veracruz in Mexico, building out across farms, roasting, retailing and decaffeination before the business arrived in East Downtown Houston.
What that history buys is a room built around coffee and hospitality rather than a single-purpose espresso counter. Expect a house that treats the bean as its own supply chain rather than a bought-in ingredient.
Coffee by day, cocktails after
Maven runs as a cafe and a cocktail bar in the same room, and the mood shifts across the day rather than staying fixed. Earlier it reads as a neighborhood coffee stop; later it turns toward a lounge with a nightcap in hand.
The coffee bridges the two. Beyond lattes and cold brew over ice, the house uses its own coffee as a mixer for signature creations, so the program carries from cafe service into cocktail-style drinks instead of stopping at standard drip. Comfort food fills in around both.

Frequently asked questions
What makes the cold brew at Maven Coffee Co. different?
The steep. Freshly roasted beans are precision-ground and held for 12 to 24 hours in triple-filtered water under a patented process, which produces a smooth, low-acid concentrate with a naturally sweet finish. It is packed airtight to keep it there, then served over ice or used as a base for drinks.
Is Maven Coffee Co. a cafe or a bar?
Both, at different points in the day. It reads as a neighborhood coffee stop earlier and turns toward a lounge later, with comfort food across the middle. The coffee links the two, because the house uses its own beans as a cocktail mixer as well as for lattes and cold brew.
