Matcha and kanapki

Two things define the order at Kanapa: matcha and kanapki. The second is more or less the name, since kanapki are the open sandwiches that Polish cafés build a midday menu around, and putting them beside matcha rather than beside a filter coffee tells you where the bar’s attention has gone. It is a short, deliberate signature for a room that could easily have spread itself across coffee, wine and food without doing any of them properly.

Espresso by day, wine later

The full name is Kanapa Espresso and Wine Bar, and the two halves describe a day rather than a menu split. Espresso and matcha carry the daytime; wine picks up afterwards. Service runs as a hybrid of counter and table, with a walk-in rhythm and no sense of ceremony, and the room is modern and social in a neighbourhood way rather than a destination one.

How to order

Keep it simple: matcha with kanapki. Those are the two things the bar is known for, and together they make a complete visit without needing anything else on the board. If you are arriving later, the wine side gives the same room a second use. European Coffee Trip recognised Kanapa in its 2025 awards, the clearest external signal it has and a reasonable argument for putting it on a Wrocław coffee route rather than treating it as a convenient stop.
