Records first, coffee alongside

Faraday is a record shop and a coffee counter in one room, and the browsing is as much the point as the cup. Records and mixtapes dominate the shelves and the brand, and the sound comes through a Klipsch system with curated analog sessions rather than a playlist left running.

The coffee is specialty and single origin, roasted by Toma, and it is served in a room where laptops are not part of the arrangement.

A no-laptop room in Justicia

The shop sits between Justicia and Chueca in central Madrid, fitted with midcentury furniture and vintage books alongside the record racks. It is calm by design: the no-laptop rule keeps the room for listening, reading and talking, and the music is what makes people stay.

That makes it a neighbourhood cultural stop as much as a café, closer to a listening bar in daylight than to a coffee counter with a few records on the wall.

Order coffee and cake

Build the visit around coffee and a slice of cake. The cakes are made in house and are the clearest food anchor here; there is no wider kitchen and no long technical coffee menu to work through.

On drinks, keep it simple with a Toma-roasted single origin, taken while whatever is on the turntable finishes. The combination is the point: specialty coffee, homemade cake, vinyl, vintage books and a calm room shaped by music.
