Café Expresso is the café and restaurant inside HS HOTSSON Hotel Irapuato, in Guanajuato, and it works the way hotel cafés do: coffee and a plate, available across the day, without the ceremony of the property’s other rooms. It sits in the hotel’s food and drink line-up alongside Los Vitrales Restaurant and the GAME-ON Sport Bar, and it is the least formal of the three.

The kitchen cooks Mexican and international dishes rather than a narrow café menu, which makes it as useful for a full meal as for a coffee. Mexican preparations sit at the centre of it, and the international side covers the rest.

A hotel room with a café rhythm

The setting is contemporary: considered lighting, music, and the décor and aromatics that run through the rest of the property. That gives the café a lounge-adjacent feel, closer to a hotel restaurant than to an independent street café, and the service is polished in the same register.

Its rhythm follows the hotel’s. Business travellers, meeting attendees, event guests and people staying the night move through it at breakfast, again at midday and again in the evening. It is a practical room rather than a destination one, and it is honest about that.

How to use it

Treat it as the hotel’s all-day option. Coffee and a light plate work at the start of the day, and the Mexican side of the kitchen is the more interesting order later on, when the international dishes are competing with a full restaurant next door.

If the visit is not tied to a stay, the comparison is with Irapuato’s independent cafés and casual restaurants, and the trade is clear: less character than a specialist coffee bar, more range and more service than one.
