A coffee window under the passage roof

This is a window rather than a room. The Jorcks Passage branch of Original Coffee opened as a to-go counter under the roof of the passage, and it has stayed that way: a hole in the wall in Copenhagen K, built for people crossing the Inner City rather than for anyone settling in. The scale sets the expectation. There is no long table service to wait for and no dining room to occupy, only a counter, a short list and the passage outside it.

Espresso, filter and cold brew

The coffee is the whole offer and it is kept deliberately narrow: espresso and milk drinks, filter coffee, and cold brew or drip. Original Coffee roasts locally and the beans come from its own roasting operation, which is the reason to stop here rather than at whichever chain is nearer. Homemade baking sits beside the coffee, changing with what has been made, so the pairing is whatever is in the case that morning.

Order it and keep walking

Take an espresso for the classic route, filter for a brewed cup, or cold brew when the weather argues for it, add a bake if you want one, and carry it out through the passage. That is the intended use, and the branch is good at it. Judged as a destination café it would look thin; judged as a central Copenhagen coffee window with its own roasted beans, it does the job better than most of what surrounds it.
