The roastery's own room

KALVE Living Room pours the coffee its parent company roasts. It is the sit-down branch of KALVE Specialty Coffee Roasters, a Latvian roastery running since 2019, so the espresso comes from the house blends and the more interesting choice is usually a seasonal single origin, which changes with what has just been roasted.

Filter, decaf and drip bags all sit within the same range, and brewing gear and milk alternatives are part of the wider KALVE line, so the counter can put a cup together in whatever format you prefer.

Buns named Selma and Cherry-Chocolate

The food is a bake programme rather than a kitchen: seasonal freshly baked buns and handmade pastries made to sit beside the coffee. Two of them are named. The Selma and the Cherry-Chocolate bun give the café a food identity of its own instead of a generic pastry shelf, and both are worth ordering before you look at anything else.

The biggest KALVE room in Riga

The Living Room name is doing work. This is the largest KALVE site in the city and it is fitted for staying: bright, design-led and built for sitting with a coffee and a bun rather than taking an espresso standing at the bar.

It also carries the group's strongest public marker, an appearance at number 75 on European Coffee Trip's 2025 ranking of Europe's 100 best coffee shops, which puts a small Riga room on a continental list. A strong order here is a house espresso or the seasonal single origin with the Selma or the Cherry-Chocolate bun.
