Fair trade Arabica sits behind the sourcing, which matters because the place behaves like a neighbourhood roaster rather than a café with bags on a shelf. Beans go home, and subscriptions make the roast part of the week rather than a souvenir.

Pews, plants and laptops before the room turns

The room works best treated as a day-to-evening counter rather than a single-purpose coffee bar. There are vintage chairs, pew benches, plants, natural light and a studious hush that suits a book, a small meeting or a slow cup. Counter service keeps the rhythm simple: order, wait near the bar, then take one of the mixed seats if the room allows. Weekdays are the easier time for laptop work; on weekends the house draws a firmer line and computers give way to people staying to talk. That policy fits the place. There is enough calm for daytime work, but the same counter also carries wine, beer, baked goods, tapas, chocolate, local provisions and prepared savoury food, so by late in the day the furniture reads less like a desk and more like a neighbourhood wine bar.

Order the cold brew first if the walk has been warm or the afternoon is already moving. It is the clearest expression of the roaster's everyday side, easy to drink without losing the fruitier edge people come back for. If milk and sweetness sound better, the maple syrup latte is the more local order, soft rather than a dessert in a cup.
