Form & Function coffee, poured downtown

The coffee at District Coffee House is Form & Function, roasted locally, and the relationship runs deeper than supply. In 2018 the owners of Form & Function bought The District from the church that had been running it, and one of them had already managed the shop, so the change paired a roaster’s programme with people who knew the room. The retail lineup shows the range: Bright Eyed as the everyday, then Ethiopia Halo Beriti, Honduras Tierra Lenca, Colombia Finca El Diviso, Ethiopia Worka Chelbessa and a Colombian EA decaf. Seasonal drinks come and go through the summer, but the coffee stays the spine.

Subscriptions sit alongside the bags for anyone who wants the roaster’s rotation delivered rather than chosen, and that retail habit is part of why the downtown room reads as a coffee business rather than a café that happens to sell beans. The shop side is not a display, it is half the point, and it is where most repeat visits end up.
