Coffee Studio 7Gr - Corso Venezia

Why go

This is a counter that expects questions. Coffee Studio 7Gr on Corso Venezia is Sevengrams' newer Milan room, a compact, essential space turned vertically towards coffee, where tasting, consultation and research happen within the same few square metres. The company has roasted in Milan since 2009 and has run Coffee Studio as its specialty-coffee culture project since 2014.

Two coffee tracks and a wall of equipment

The coffee splits in two directions. On one side sit the 7Gr. blends and single origins built for espresso drinkers; on the other, Lot Zero, the specialty line selected and roasted in small batches by Chiara Bergonzi. Both lines exist so that you can taste the difference between them. Named coffees across the range include Lot Zero Unordinary, a decaffeinated Lot Zero Colombia Tumbaga, Jamaica Blue Mountain and Brasile Santos. The retail side is just as deliberate: espresso machines, grinders, scales, kettles, moka pots, alternative brewing kit, latte art tools, cupping equipment and the cleaning supplies that keep all of it working.

A studio rather than a bar

This is not a stand-and-drink espresso bar and does not pretend to be. Corso Venezia is where Sevengrams brought tasting, consultation and research together in one contemporary room, and the visit runs on conversation as much as caffeine: rare beans, guidance on what to try, and an explanation of why. Expect coffee knowledge, beans and brewing equipment rather than a restaurant-style menu, with espresso and specialty coffee making up the whole of the drinks list. It is a working room first and a shop second. The training programme sits behind all of it, covering barista skills, sensory work, brewing and roasting workshops.

Come with time and questions

Go to slow down around coffee rather than to grab one. The format rewards asking about beans, comparing espresso side by side, handling the brewing tools and connecting what is in the cup back to the roasting and sourcing behind Lot Zero. Daytime is the natural window, and the best-fitting visitor is someone who wants a Milan stop tied to roasting, equipment and specialty culture rather than another quick counter. Events, tastings and workshops appear through the year and change what the room is doing on any given day. The most rewarding order is an espresso and a question.

Frequently asked questions

What coffee does Coffee Studio 7Gr serve?

Two lines. The 7Gr. blends and single origins are built for espresso drinkers, while Lot Zero is the specialty range selected and roasted in small batches by Chiara Bergonzi. Named coffees across the range include Lot Zero Unordinary, a decaffeinated Colombia Tumbaga, Jamaica Blue Mountain and Brasile Santos.

What is a Coffee Studio?

Sevengrams' own format, putting tasting, consultation and research in one room rather than running a stand-and-drink espresso bar. Corso Venezia is the newer and more immersive of the two, and it sells brewing equipment and runs training in barista skills, sensory work, brewing and roasting alongside the coffee.
