A lane-side counter built on hand brews

Coffee Sind is small enough to miss and busy enough not to: a semi-outdoor coffee stand on a lane near Zhongxiao Xinsheng, with a street counter, a few casual seats and the pavement doing the rest of the work. Huashan 1914 Creative Park and Taipei Main Station are both within reach, which is part of why a stand this size draws the traffic it does.

It was ranked #36 in The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops in 2026. What that recognition rewards is friendliness, simplicity and convenience rather than polish, and the shop runs on energy and personality far more than on square metres.

Filter first, then the Taiwanese signatures

The programme is coffee-led and narrow on purpose: hand-brewed coffee, espresso drinks and signature builds using Taiwan-sourced ingredients. Filter is the strongest recommendation and the reason regulars come back, so a pour-over is the safest way to read the current beans. Espresso drinks hold the middle ground for anyone who wants milk, but the counter’s reputation rests on what comes out of the dripper.

The signature list behaves more like a short cocktail menu than a flavoured-latte board. Cold brew with coconut and pineapple and mulberry with espresso are the two clearest examples, with seasonal combinations rotating alongside them. Cakes and pastries are there to accompany rather than to compete, and drip bags cover anyone who wants the coffee to travel.

How the visit actually goes

Plan a short stop, not a session. There is little privacy, seating is minimal and the lane is effectively part of the room, so this is a pour-over, an espresso drink, a seasonal signature or a handful of drip bags, then on.

The service is where much of the appeal sits. Baristas talk through the options rather than simply taking an order, steering people towards whatever is drinking well that day, whether that means a filter, mulberry with espresso or the cold brew with coconut and pineapple. Within Taipei’s specialty scene the stand stands out precisely because the small footprint has not limited what comes out of it: a tiny, local, coffee-first counter known for hand brews and Taiwanese signature drinks.
