Specialty coffee in a very small room

Cafe KIOSK No1 is one of four Kiosk cafés run by Kiosk Kohvikud in Tallinn, and it is the one billed as the smallest coffee shop and wine bar in Estonia. The counter covers coffee, tea, cocoa, pastries, salads, craft beer and mulled wine, which is a wide list for a room this size.

Coffee is the strongest part of it. The group serves coffee from Lykke Coffee Farms, while KIOSK No1 and No2 pour specialty coffee roasted by Johan & Nyström, and the house menu puts Kohv and Tee at the front. The most specific drink named locally is the cappuccino, recommended with a tomato bun, which points to an espresso-and-milk counter rather than a brew-bar setup.

A kiosk with a terrace and a park

Its reputation rests on that specialty positioning and on unusual scale. The café was named a country winner in the 2025 European Coffee Trip Awards, and it sits inside a wider Kiosk operation that also runs coffee retail, tea, accessories and training, so the kiosk in the name is smaller than the business behind it.

The space is a small house with a few seats inside, its own terrace and a large park next door. Locals sit under the linden trees or by the window, which gives the place an indoor-outdoor character despite the tiny footprint. The compact setup also explains the drinks list: coffee and tea through the day, cocoa for a soft non-coffee order, mulled wine or craft beer for the wine-bar side.

The grounded first order is a cappuccino, the drink locals point to first and the one that fits the Lykke and Johan & Nyström framing. For food, the tomato bun is the standout, a savoury bake regulars pair with the coffee rather than treat as an afterthought.

Fresh pastries and salads fill out the rest of the counter, giving a light sweet-and-savoury range without turning the place into a restaurant. If the weather allows, take the order outside: the terrace is as much the point of the building as the interior is, and the park makes the few square metres inside feel larger than they are.
