The bar at Book Coffee Shop runs on espresso, hand brew filter and specialty tea, and all three are treated as first choices rather than one leading and two following. For a short cup, espresso; for milk coffee, the flat white; for a slower visit, a hand brew filter. Baristas will tell you where the beans came from if you ask, and the tea side gets the same treatment, with recommendations, origins and a word on how each one is best drunk. Oat milk is on the bar. There is Romanian wine and a small wine-bar service too, which widens the room's use without pulling it away from coffee. The shop was picked out in the 2025 European Coffee Trip awards.

A quiet street off Republicii, with books

The room is bookish and unhurried: shelves of books, plants, and enough space to read or talk without being moved along. It sits on a quieter side street off busy Republicii in Brasov's pedestrian center, near an old Franciscan monastery, which puts it just outside the main flow of foot traffic. The terrace has only a few tables and looks onto people passing, and the street around it stays calm without being dead. Inside is not library-silent, so the honest expectation is a specialty coffee and tea room with books around it rather than a study hall. That suits the way people use it, in pairs and small groups more often than alone.

Flat white first, banana bread beside it

A flat white is the clearest first order and espresso the shortest read on the bar. If you want to spend longer with the cup, take the hand brew filter, which is the method the shop is set up for and the one the staff will talk you through. Tea is a real alternative rather than a courtesy, supported by the specialty range and by the same origin-first attitude the coffee gets. The sweet side is modest and specific: banana bread, biscuits, and assorted pastries and cakes, arriving fresh each day from Cuptorul lui Robert, a local artisan baker. The pairings pick themselves. Flat white with banana bread, espresso with biscuits, filter with a slice of cake, or a pot of tea with whatever pastry came in that morning.
