A V60 and a short espresso list carry BAD HABITS, a specialty coffee shop that opened in central Craiova in 2021 with a plan to bust a few myths about coffee and bring proper specialty to the city.

Coffee first, with a short list of orders

The coffee programme is the reason to notice the place. V60 is the clearest named brew method and puts manual filter at the centre of the bar, next to espresso and latte on the milk side. Tonic covers the colder, brighter end. Craft beer sits on the list too, but coffee stays the proposition, and the baristas take their time over it rather than pushing cups out at speed.

A casual Craiova stop with a serious address

BAD HABITS is compact and design-conscious rather than a broad restaurant. The setting does a lot of the work: the café occupies Casa Alba, the oldest mixed residential and commercial building in the city, and the interior is the part guests mention first. The atmosphere reads homey and the staff friendly. Outdoor seating and takeaway are both there, so the format holds for a two-minute coffee or a slow hour. It took a European Coffee Trip award in 2025.

Order espresso, latte or tonic, then something sweet

Stay coffee-led on a first order: espresso for the shortest expression of the bar, latte for milk, tonic for something colder and sharper, or the V60 when there is time to sit. Food is secondary but the sweets pair well. Brownies are the strongest thing to put beside the cup, with biscuits and cakes in the same lane, and breakfast and brunch plates if the visit runs longer.
