The order at Acadia Perk is quick and familiar: iced coffee, a latte, a pumpkin spice latte when the season turns. It is a small coffee shop opposite Bar Harbor’s Village Green, built for takeaway cups and a short sit rather than a meal, and the list is deliberately narrow. The one food item worth planning around is the vegan oatmeal, which makes the place useful when somebody in the group needs that specific option. A pup cup for the dog is the other thing the counter is known for.

The stop before the park

The position does most of the work. Across from the Village Green, it sits on the route people take through town and out toward Acadia National Park, which makes it an easy first stop of the day or an afternoon pause after a walk. The room is bright and the atmosphere is casual, lively and friendly, with quick service and simple seating. Nobody is trying to turn it into a destination; it is the coffee shop you use because it is where you already are, and it is pleasant enough to make that a good outcome.

Oatmeal and an iced coffee

Start with the vegan oatmeal if you want the clearest named food order, and pair it with an iced coffee. If the mood is sweeter, the pumpkin spice latte is the one guests come back for. The pup cup is worth knowing about if you are walking a dog through town, which in Bar Harbor is most people. Beyond that the menu does not need much interpretation: a drink, something simple to eat, and back out to the Green.
