A nano roastery that opened a bar

7AM started as a nano specialty roastery and only became a public café in 2024, when it opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in Vračar. That order matters. The coffee is a product the business makes rather than one it buys in, and the bar is the newest expression of a roasting operation rather than the other way round. A second, smaller outpost sits inside the nearby ACT Fitness studio.

Café, shop and classroom

Three functions run out of the same brand: the café, a retail shop and an education space. The retail side stocks brewing equipment rather than souvenirs, with Bentwood grinders, Aeropress GO and Aeropress filters alongside a 7AM gift box and a shop t-shirt, which places it in a hands-on brewing ecosystem instead of a gift-counter one. The education programme runs sessions for enthusiasts and for working baristas, with the roasting process itself as the subject. Wholesale and events complete the picture.

What to expect from the coffee

The programme is roaster-first, so the useful approach is to drink whatever 7AM has roasted recently rather than to arrive with a fixed drink in mind. Food and pastry are not part of the operation’s identity: there are no named bakes, no bakery partner and no kitchen programme, and the counter does not pretend otherwise. The room is bright, minimalist and sleek, arranged so the coffee and the retail shelves share the same clean space. European Coffee Trip recognised 7AM in its 2025 awards, a fair reflection of a roaster now treated as one of the leaders in Belgrade’s specialty scene.
