The name is an address. The first shop opened at 1369 Cambridge Street, in what had been the 1369 Jazz Club, and the number stayed with the brand as it grew. That history gives the coffeehouse a local-room identity before the menu comes into it, and Central Square keeps the same rhythm rather than reinventing it.
